If I'm a C&G qualified plumber in the uk do I need to do a conversion course to be qualified in Canada?

Yes.

In Canada, we have two levels of certification. The first is the Provincial certificate, issued by the Province in which you are living. The other is the Red Seal, which allows you to work in any part of Canada.

Obviously, there are differences in how we do things here, compared to the UK, but on the whole it is not that hard to be certified here. You will have to study, to be sure that you are not wasting your money , when taking the tests. It is not a ';walk thru ';.

I know plumbers that have come to Canada, from the UK and they are happy and working as much as they want, at great wages, and with a much better family life than in the UK. No chavs or yobs here.

Here is a link to the Government of Ontario's web page about how to become qualified in that Province. Remember that Canada has 10 provinces and 3 Territories, each with their own regulatory bodies.

Read it fully, and save it on your computer, for future use.

Good Luck, we NEED more good tradesmen here in Canada, you won't regret coming here.
