What would you consider to be your M.A.C. must-have?
i just started getting into spending the little extra buck for the mac products because i want some good quality makeup. What would you consider to be your M.A.C. must-have?
I wear carbon eyeshadow (as an eyeliner) almost every day...so based on that it is a must have. However, I love their studio tech foundation, blot powder, eyeshadow bases/or shade sticks, all their eyeshadows (my personal favorites are retrospeck, swimming, and coppering.) What would you consider to be your M.A.C. must-have?
I use Studio Fix powder and I love it!
I would suggest investing in some eye shadows. I honestly only wear eye shadows from MAC. They have such awesome pigment.
Also Fluidline eye liner in blacktrack. Goes on silky smooth and then ';sets'; to prevent smearing.
Most importantly, have fun exploring!

Yeah the will. I've been there many times and they're very helpful. One of the girls put the right (suitable for the type of my skin) foundation and chose just the right colour by applying it near the corner of my nose. (: and yeah they match it for free,, but i think you might have to make an appointment for them to do your whole face..but idk! hope i helped!

MAC matte lipstick is very long lasting however their satin lipsticks wipe right off, so if your looking for a long lasting matte look go with MAC. If you want a long lasting shine go with COVERGIRL.

For a full make-over at Mac it is 55 dollars. They will however just do your eyes, lips, OR cheeks for free. To me eyes are the most important so I went there and they did both my eyes.
Just ask them for their help. Ask them what colors they think will suit you the best and how to apply the make-up. They'll gladly help you and you won't be walking out with questions.

Obviously, there are differences in how we do things here, compared to the UK, but on the whole it is not that hard to be certified here. You will have to study, to be sure that you are not wasting your money , when taking the tests. It is not a ';walk thru ';.
I know plumbers that have come to Canada, from the UK and they are happy and working as much as they want, at great wages, and with a much better family life than in the UK. No chavs or yobs here.

MAC will always make your face shiny. I was actually using MAC before. I now use Bare Minerals, you should try it and it will really make a difference for your skin. You can apply as much as you want for as much coverage as you want. I is very easy to look cackey and I think that is for most foundation depending on how much you apply. Laura Mercier is well known for creating a flawless skin. While Bobbi Brown is well known for naturally healthy looking skin. not much difference, but Bobbi Brown's packaging are much more satisfying. You have to know what you are looking for in your makeup in order to choose the right brand that has similar point of view as you to give you the best results.

Well if you want to spend a lot then i would definately go with the M.A.C. products. They're great. However, they're not gonna do anything for your oily skin, so the products may smear, or smudge. For an optimum fresh look then I would go with Cover Girl. It's inexpensive, and they have tons of products to choose from. I dont wear foundation but, I do use their under eye concealer and bronzer and all of them are AMAZING products. It is actually the only make up I use- and really I think it is the most reasonable out there for what you are getting. hope this helps.

*greens: Sumptuous Olive, Flourish, Humid
*purples: satellite dreams, shale, sketch

What M.A.C. studio fix should I use?
I currently have the NW15 and I find that it gives me the perfect amount of coverage and the pale shade that I want. It blends well with the red parts in my face like my cheeks and nose, but it leaves other parts a more yellow colour and the difference is noticeable. Would I be better to use some of the NC shades instead? If so, in comparision to NW15 what would be better NC15 or NC20? If you have any other recommendations they are welcome. It goes on smooth with with a MAC 187 or a kabuki, and requires little touch-up throughout the day. I do also like the Studio Fix Fluid for the winter when I am more dry.
FIX +!!! Sets your look, feels wonderful when it is scorching, and keeps your Studio Fix looking matte without being too powdery.
Shadows: Woodwinked, Carbon, Vanilla, Parrot, Nocturnelle, Antiqued, Lucky Green, Soba, Coppering... love. I can't live without Veluxe Pearl formula shadows period, come to think of it. My easiest face ever in summer is Expensive Pink, all over lid and into the crease, with just a dab of Woodwinked in the center lid, a couple coats of Fibre Rich Mascara and some tinted Lip Conditioner. Fabulous every time.

As for actual products, i'd say the nail lacquers, which are around 拢7. The prep and prime lash, false lashes, eye pencils and eye pencils are all around the 拢8 mark.

I dont work for MAC but i knew a few artist who do.... The best way to apply would be to call your local mac store and ask them if they are hiring. If they are you will go through a series of interviews. There will be a few one on one interviews and an audition where you bring your own model in and they ask you to recreate a specific look on your model. You are to use their brushes and their make up which they provide for the audition. If you want to be a freelance make up artist contracted through MAC you would still start by calling your local MAC store and they will tell you to bring in and drop off your resume then you start the interview process if they feel by your resume that you would be a good candidate. Some artist that i know say the interview process took months and the few artist that were accepted to be freelance say that it took, some upwards to 6 months, to get their MAC Pro information.

Mac is great, I've been using it for years and I can't get enough of it!
Their eyeshadows- lasts long, and they have great bold colors as well as natural colors that look great. There's a choice of matte and frost, which look great on top of each other. They have pigments which can be used for multiple purposes by mixing it. With it you can create blush, highlighter, etc.
Their foundation I find to work great also. Mac studio fix fluid is the best foundation I've ever tried. It is a little tricky to blend but if you apply moisturizer before the foundation, it makes it easy. It has great coverage and looks flawless when you apply Studio fix powder on top of it.
Honestly, I don't care much for their lipgloss, mascara, or eyeliner tho. I find it to be the same as any other brands.

I love MAC, escpecially for their wide variety of shades in eyeshadows, lipsticks, glosses, you name it. I also like the fact that they bring out amazing seasonal collections. The Mineralize powders that they bring out are fantastic - they look great as a highlighter on your cheeks, nose etc. While they do target a younger crowd, I suppose, my mum loves them. She swears by their cream blushers to give her a 'youthful glow' (Sweet William and Ladyblush are great) and as she's a make-up artist, so she knows her make-up brands!
However, I don't really like their foundations. I've tried the Studio one and found it to be quite cakey with little coverage. I find Lancome foundations much better.
But you can't beat MAC for something fun and bright!

These stores sell overstocked and discontinued Estee Lauder products (MAC is owned by Estee Lauder) for about 30% off. Most of these stores won't let you buy more than 3 of any one item.

What is a good department store foundation other than M.A.C?
I am currently using M.A.C studio fix and I have been using it for a while but I am looking for a new department liquid foundation that gives me more coverage cause I have been noticing that with Studio Fix it doesn't give me the full coverage that I would like to have. I whole heartily believe in spending the money on brushes even if it costs an arm and a leg. Brushes should last you forever.

i've tried bare minerals and it doesn't cover any of my acne scars so i think i need a thick and creamy kind of make up, i was wondering if the MAC stuff actually looks good because i've been wanting to try it...Does the M-A-C concealer (pressed powder) actually work?
yes!
i use mac ';studio fix'; and i don't have the best skin, and it covers all of my blemishes very well.
it's a pressed powder,
first i take a small brush (you can use an eyeshadow brush, or you can buy a paint brush, they work as well) and put it in the ';studio fix'; and go over just my blemishes. i then use a large makeup/blush brush
and go over my whole face.
i used to use a seperate concealer to cover my blemishes but i found that it wasn't working because the concealer and the pressed powder different densities and would make my skin look all funny and blotchy.
the big makeup brush also allows for even distribution and is easy to reapply.
